Climate ethics : The Earth: she has a vote

• The concept of “ecocide” is introduced in international and national laws. It addresses all human activity that violates the principles of environmental justice, the damaging or destroying of ecosystems or by harming the health and well-being of a species and humans (cultures).

• The legal entity “Earth” is introduced (next to Microsoft, Google, Huawei, Monsanto, Exxon, Chevron…).  Its shareholders are the worlds’ population.  The entity “Earth” needs to be represented when decisions are taken that increase the footprint henceforth so that due footprint compensation is realized;

• It is impossible that the Earth can “carry” the “footprint” of “Western rich civilizations” should this be extended to the world population;

• The Earth is a living organism of which all its components need to be respected: oceans, land, forests, delta’s, plains, tundra, mountains, invertebrate and vertebrata organisms….
