Our politicians

• Politicians in democracies will not make big changes because they fear not being reelected once they take “unpopular” measures, they easily succumb to pressure of lobby groups. Always one or another stakeholder group will feel threatened by a given measure and will lobby with politicians to reduce the measure to some window dressing.

• Politicians in other forms of government will not make big changes because they will need to keep their friends (the oligarchs of all ways of life) to friend;

• A college of experts of all disciplines with knowledge of the current financial, technological, environmental, social, economic environment will need to take “unpopular” measures and have them applied in society. They need to be shielded of from lobby groups of all kinds. They need to be controlled by an elected body of people representatives assuring that the persons taking the decisions will not enrich themselves or be subject to any lobbying whatsoever.

• Multiple examples exist whereby experts trying to squash the Covid outbreak to manageable numbers are not listened to by politicians under the pressure of lobby groups of all kinds.

On a new international governing body

• The implementation of many of the subsequently mentioned measures requires massive funding to be sourced from the place where the source of footprinting originates: the consumer, the stock exchange and foreign exchange markets. It requires an international “body” that has jurisdiction over current legal, state & country borders.

Sovereignty

• By international law countries no longer have univocal right to decide what to do whatever they want with the marine environment within the 12 miles coastal zone, the tropical equatorial rain forests on their territory and other endangered areas or zones of value;

• Borders of current countries were drawn in centuries past and become outdated, we propose new “frontiers” namely those determined by the climate class (zones of similar climatic characteristics over the year). Note that the changes of the borders of each climate class due to global warming have already been modeled (see information section).

• Tropical rain forests “the lungs of the Earth” are to become “international territory” with immediate effect and be put under international supervision and control.

• The continent Antarctica is not to be mined, exploited. Only accessed scientific research and ecotourism.
