Reduce your impact
We all know none of these proposals are to be implemented because our politicians would have to take measures contrary to the view of financial institutions, the industry at large, all the people that prefer to cling on (as long as possible for some time still) to the privileges they have over other Earth citizens. Our politicians will be crushed by lobby groups of all kind.
It is “human” that interest groups and stakeholders affected by a measure will only look at the short term self -interest and immediately be up in arms and their corporate representatives will strongly advise against all measures that affect their sector, using all media channels, creating panic and havoc.
What will you do?
But you, who might consider yourself but a grain of sand on the beach in this global story, can do something. And if you change, you can at least look (your) (grand)children in the eye when you’re old of age and say: “I’ve tried to do my part”.
Start changing your consumption behavior, consume less, more thought over (“Do I really need this?”), a real though one, but still, let’s make some small steps
Write down your current consumption pattern, then
Set a very small target and reward, then
Execute the target & enjoy your reward, then
Check your footprint and donate to an “I reduce my footprint project” in your neighborhood (set up by local governments, if not, set it up yourself)
Let’s get started with a total hypothetical example how you can contribute to reduce global warming. You have the following weekly lifestyle and can make small steps
