Youth witnesses

In all schools initiatives under the umbrella of “first line witnesses” & clean up aides” are proposed to be introduced:

• Every high school in the developed countries will organize workshops and site visits to local waste recycling factories, waste dumps, etc;

• Every year, every high school will select by lottery 5 pupils age 12-15 to visit the “waste dumps” in Bangladesh, India, China, Vietnam.  The footprinting of the flight will calculated and be offset by planting trees in the local community;

• Per 500 children, at least 50 candidates, age 15-18 will be selected by lottery system to spend a clean-up “vacation” in countries where we dumped waste.  These travels are to be organized by dedicated travel agencies. Footprint to be offset locally.

• Feedback to colleagues students to be given in return, projects launched.

Visualize climate change

Reducing footprint & changing habits is about making climate change “visible” to all:

• In prime time on television and continuously on social media short clips have to be shown bringing “climate change” into our midst (fires of the Amazon, droughts, low water levels in rivers, floods);

• In every capital large pieces of ice are to be put on display so that people can come and see “life” what melting of ice due to climate change means (already done by artist Olafur Eliasson, project to be expanded and funded);
